Loading Delete PDF Pages…

Your browser is preparing the tool. It runs 100% locally.

Quick answer

Upload a PDF and type the pages to remove, using single pages and ranges like 2,4-6. The tool drops those pages and saves the rest as a new PDF. It works as the inverse of the extract tool, running the same page-range engine in delete mode, and the copy is lossless. The PDF stays in your browser and is never uploaded.

What the Delete PDF Pages does

The tool removes pages from a PDF. You name the pages you don't want and it builds a new document with everything else, so you keep most of the file and lose only what you picked.

Use it to drop a blank page, a cover sheet, an ad or any other unwanted pages and get a copy of the rest.

How it works

The tool reads your page range, works out which pages to remove and copies every other page from the original into a new PDF, in order. Deleted pages are left out. Kept pages are copied losslessly, without re-rendering, and the file is saved for download.

Split and extract use the same page-range engine. Extract keeps the pages you list and delete keeps everything else, so 2,4-6 removes pages 2, 4, 5 and 6 and leaves the rest.

Processing pipeline

  1. Load the PDF. Read the uploaded PDF and count its pages.
  2. Read the range. Parse your input, such as 2,4-6, into the pages to remove.
  3. Keep the rest. Copy every page not in that list into a new PDF, in order.
  4. Save the file. Save and download the document with those pages removed.

How delete works

input like 2,4-6 → remove pages 2, 4, 5, 6 · keep all the others kept pages = every page NOT in your list (the inverse of extract)
Worked example
a 10-page PDF, remove 2,4-6 → a new 6-page PDF (pages 1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10)

The kept pages are copied losslessly by the engine that split and extract use, here in delete mode. Bookmarks and the document outline don't carry over to the new file.

Privacy

The PDF stays on your device. Your browser reads it, drops the unwanted pages and builds the new file locally, and keeps no copy anywhere.

There is no account and the tool saves nothing. Refresh or close the tab and the source and the result are both cleared from memory, which suits statements, contracts and other private documents.

Standards and references

  • Page-range parsing: You enter a comma-separated list of single pages and ranges, like 2,4-6. A range covers every page in it, a single page counts on its own, and every listed page is removed.
  • Keeps the inverse: Delete mode keeps every page that isn't on your list. The extract tool does the opposite and keeps the pages you list, using the same engine.
  • Lossless page copy: Kept pages are copied into the new PDF without re-rendering or re-compressing, so their quality matches the original. Only the removed pages are gone.

Accuracy and limits

The deletion is exact and lossless. The pages you list are removed, every other page is copied as it was, and the remaining pages keep their original order.

Pages are copied but the document structure around them isn't. Bookmarks, the outline and some interactive features don't reach the new file, because the tool copies pages instead of cloning the whole document.

Page numbers must exist in the document. Numbers outside the range and invalid input are ignored. The numbers refer to the original file, so the tool removes those positions in the source.

If your list covers every page, nothing is left to save. Leave at least one page in the output.

Real-world uses

Dropping a blank page

Remove an empty or unwanted page from a PDF.

Removing a cover sheet

Delete a cover page or fax header before you share the file.

Cutting out ads

Take advertisement pages out of a document.

Trimming a scan

Remove stray or duplicate scanned pages.

When it fits, and when it doesn't

Good for

  • Removing a few unwanted pages
  • Dropping blanks, covers or ads
  • Keeping most of a document
  • A lossless trimmed copy

Not the best choice for

  • Keeping only a few pages
  • Preserving bookmarks and outline
  • Reordering the remaining pages
  • Merging documents together

To keep only a few pages, the extract or split tool is quicker, because you list what to keep instead of everything to remove. This tool uses the same engine and keeps everything except the pages you delete.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose which pages to remove?
Type a range such as 2,4-6, which removes pages 2, 4, 5 and 6 and keeps the rest. You can mix single pages and ranges, separated by commas.
How is this different from extract or split?
It runs the same page-range engine in delete mode. Extract keeps the pages you list and delete keeps everything else, so each is the reverse of the other.
Does deleting pages reduce quality?
No. The pages you keep are copied without re-rendering or re-compressing, so their quality is identical. The file just has fewer pages.
What happens to bookmarks and the outline?
They don't carry over. The tool copies the kept pages and not the whole document structure, so bookmarks, the outline and some interactive elements are lost.
Should I use delete or extract?
Use delete to remove a few pages and keep most of the document, and extract when you want only a few pages. Whichever list is shorter is usually easier.
What if I enter a page that does not exist?
It is ignored. The tool removes only the valid pages on your list and keeps the rest, so an out-of-range number has no effect.
Can I remove all the pages?
That would leave nothing to save, so keep at least one page. The tool trims a document but can't empty it.
Are the remaining pages reordered?
No. The kept pages stay in their original order without the deleted ones. To rearrange pages, use a page organiser.
Is my PDF uploaded to delete pages?
No. Your browser removes the pages. The PDF is never uploaded and no copy is kept.
Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?
Unlock it first. While a PDF is encrypted, its pages can't be copied or removed until you provide the password or remove the protection.
Does the page numbering update in the result?
The new PDF has fewer pages. Printed page numbers only exist if your document already had them on the page, and those don't change. To add fresh numbers, run a page-numbering tool afterwards.
What do I get at the end?
One new PDF with every page except the ones you removed, in their original order, ready to download. Your original file stays untouched on your device.
